That seems like a reasonable way to go, although I'd suggest AUUG would 
need to work out who and/or what was going to run the web-site and 
mailing lists. I've known other organisations where web-servers have 
literally gotten "lost" (yes, they worked, but noone actually knew how 
:P)...
