IIRC the whole idea of spamassassin was not really to increase the amount of
points but to train your system so that 5 points is roughly correct....
so my suggestion would be ( this worked reasonably well for me ) , grab your
self a dummy email address that doesn't already have spam filtering on it.
Sign up to as much porn/ mailing lists and forums as you possibly can.
As you get the spam, copy it over to your mail server, let SA run over it and
and within around a month it worked reasonably well for me...
at 5 i used to get my most spammed user ( down to around 6-8 a day with
barely any false positives.)
I do remember having to alter the scores which were given to various rules
slightly though. I was reasonably picky about the quality of the mail that i
let through in terms of standards so basically anyone using outlook had
about .6 points to spare by the end of the filtering, so i'd suggest not
being as heavy handed on those rules if you can. They worked better for me
though. That was SA 3.1 i think.
