I think one of the peeves was that you didn't say *why* you

Personally, I read it a while ago and just thought it
was "common" sense.  I've always steered clear of those
sorts of books for those sorts of reasons (although I have
been tempted to buy a "Unix for Dummies" book just for
shock value - I fantasize about being asked a question
at a client's, whipping the book out and saying "I think
I read something about that last night ...").
