Every year this list gets less character, less useful and less worth
reading. If you have a problem with posts, then use the tools at hand.
You have quality mail tools such as fetchmail and procmail at your
disposal, so use them.
Why should everyone have to deal with your reading tastes anyway?
I often filter out characters from here if I have had enough of them,
and then start reading their emails when things have settled. I can't
see any reason at all why the average open source user would worry
about certain types of emails from genuine people about topics we ARE
interested in. If you don't like my emails then please just kill file
me, if you don't like Romana's then do the same, or why not filter out
all emails with a url and less than 100B of body or similar?
I often learn things from links pasted here. I get frustrated at times
by some, but on average they are worth having. If I was really pissed
then I would just use procmail.
Bring on the flame wars, bring on some passion, bring back (most of) the
characters, but don't whinge because you get some relatively useful
links- you are supposed to have the ability to sort that out yourself.
Stop dumbing down the experience for others, try using your brain.
