Rails Question

I'm playing with Ruby on Rails a bit; I've got a bit of question that  
I'd like to put to any of the gurus.

Suppose I have a database field which contains:

'Hello {{person.name}}, thanks for opening the page'

How do I get Ruby/Rails to evaluate the contents of the database field?

The application for this is some sort of template, where users can  
define what fields they might like displayed in an e-mail or on a web  
page. I want them to be able to enter the fields they want displayed.

Is that being clear enough?
