Mark was saying, if I read correctly, that the free market will find a 
way to provide the goods, for example in the bit you didn't quote via 
offshore loopholes...

What you've added is your own hope and dream and I commend that; but 
they have NOTHING to do with the context of the bit you quoted Mark.

I think that those opposed to DRM don't actually see the legitimate 
reasons for having it. The opposition hasn't convinced me that DRM or 
DMCA (or whatever damned acronym it is these days) is bad for what I 
perceive to be open source.

If they're not able to convince me (a recalcitrant, often argumentative 
person in the SA open source community), how are you going to convince 
the MAJORITY of the population you need to pass or not pass a law?
