Suse 10.1 has access to LAN - no access to Internet/YAST

Check the bottom layers first, and work up..
1 have you got the cable connected
2 does it have link lights (anything blinking?)
3 do you have a valid IP? (ifconfig)
4 do you have a valid gateway? (route)
5 do you have dns servers? (cat /etc/resolve.conf)
6 can you ping your default gateway/router (ping 192.168.1.1) or
whatever your subnet is
7 can you do dns lookups? (dig google.com)
8 can you perform a trace route (traceroute ozemail.com.au)
9 can you use a web browser to access a site?
10 does yast now work?
When you reach a point where the answer is no, fix, and proceed.
What have you done in your network configuration? Try removing the
network card (via yast, not physically) and reinstalling it DHCP only.
