Can't access internet from my LAN. Any clues please ?

The dialup computer has a firewall and I've always had it set to allow Echo
request (ping) as the only service that the internet can connect to, so that
this machine can maintain an internet connection.
On the firewall, I have not enabled internet connection to the Domain Name
Server: I understand this affects only connections from the internet to my
computer, not from other computers on my LAN.

Yes, ip_forwarding is now enabled (see other post) and ping to ip numbers is
now bringing about the expected response.
And so too now is pinging a domain name fromt he NSLU2: I had overlooked the
Domain Name Servers on the NSLU2. They're now pointing to the isp and so
everything is now the go!
