distro to recommend for newbie

Lycoris was a breeze to install and get running. Takes one CD, looks so 
much like Windblown that it almost comes under the "look and feel" 
criteria, and runs very well. Many saw it at the Installfest and were 
impressed with it.

For a newbie that is the way I would be suggesting they go.

The Lycoris community is very helpful and their software updates are 
easy and painless.
