it's that or a bootable CD like knoppix - which I've done
and works well. But... it's great to demo but to really
use it, I need to save files somewhere. Which means
saving them under NTFS or a USB device (more bits to
carry round - and I'd have to buy one) or use a CDRW
and write it out to the knoppix CD again each time I
shutdown (assuming room on the CD).
So it's beginning to look like I either make do with win2000
or ditch the company laptop and buy my own. I'm favouring
the second option there, going surfing again now to check
out specs and prices of ibooks again and compare to the
smallest, lightest, longest battery x86 laptop around.
Anyone got a hint which is an x86 laptop that meets the above
specs? (preferably under $3K - preferably well under)
Dave.
