since we have the distro holy war almost started, I'll put in with something
else. namely that I like slackware, and I think it's kind of sad that it's
often overlooked. slackware is usually quite up-to-date, but it relies more
on the user knowning what they're doing.
installing slack also helped me in other areas, for example, since my mouse is
a ps/2 in a serial port, I couldn't use the graphical installers many others
use. if you want something quick (partly because it's got more aim at the
console than gui work) and very up-to-date, and you dont mind curses-based
config and editing your own config files (or finding a tool on the net, and
there's probably always a number to choose from), then consider slack.
we now return you to your previous distro holy war
