1RU PCI loose contacts - low profile network cards?
Just wondering
We just yanked a 1RU machine from a server room.
We worked out (after 3 hours) that the network card contact was loose.
The network card was connected to a PCI riser (so it could go in
sideways - its 1RU).
We believe it is the PCI riser. It is an intermittent fault.
Its annoying, has anyone else had this trouble before?
Is it possible to get ultra-low profile 1RU network cards that fit into
1RU boxes
without the need for a riser card? (i.e. connects straight to the pci bus?)
Any help/advice appreciated
frustratedly,
jon
