No it won't, it'll use whatever nameserver resolv.conf tells it to use.
And he's already said that's his ISP's nameserver.

No idea why it works.

HOWEVER!  .int is a bad choice for an internal domain name, because
it's actually an official real-life domain.  It'd be a bit like using
.com as your internal domain :-)

.int is for "international" organizations, such as www.un.int.
