Still? I dont know. But from an old doc about what sony want you to use
for playstation cd mastering hardware (if a legit game developer):
"You also need to start writing PlayStation format CD-ROMS - this
requires the CD Write Once Drive (CDW-900E or the newer CDU921S) unit,
which is connected to your PC via a SCSI interface (you will need to buy
an additional Adaptec AHA-154x SCSI card)."
Maybe its just a good drive with sony behind it?
