My experiences with bluecurve are only installing parts of it via 
alien'ated .rpm's on Debian Sid, but as far as I'm aware, 'bluecurve' 
just refers to gtk+/gtk+2/qt/kde wm/gnome wm themes, it's designed to 
make everything look consistent.

You should be able to change all the themes the usual way, through 
kde's control center, and gnome's control center (or hack ~/.gtkrc etc).
