Sounds fun.

Did you go to the Alsa site itself? Reason I ask, is that you can find
out fairly quickly if your card is supported.

Download version 9.2 from ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/driver/

Save in home directory

Right click on file, extract

Go to console/terminal/shell

type this:

su (supply password)

cd alsa-driver-0.9.2

./configure

make

make install

./install-sh

cd utils

alsaconf

If it detects a sound card you are in business. Follow the wizzard until
you hear some music.
