Emacs in latex-mode with font-lock-mode --> black on black?

Hi all,

I'm trying to use Emacs to edit some LaTeX, and when I use
font-lock-mode (syntax highlighting), for some reason, it renders some
LaTeX commands in black. Specifically, commands that are in the letter
mode of LaTeX, as opposed to the normal modes (article, book, etc). I'm
not all that experienced with emacs (and keep using vi keybindings with
it...), so if anyone can help me here, I'd appreciate it :)

Cheers

rr
