No argument from me there, I've seen watches with more components... The
realtek's are cheap to have lying around, and cheap to trash if they
play up.

Some of the 'not so cheap' name brand cards, (Netgear, 3Com, Intel) have
caused me more grief than I care to think about, and some of these cost
about 10x the realtek prices.
