Nup, I'm using OpenSSH ssh/sshd (#.4p1) on a Debian-only network. So Putty
is irrelevant. But a bug fix in putty suggests there may be one for
OpenSSH. Does anyone know whether this is the case?

There was nothing relevant on that page except another lost soul - without
an answere (if your first hit was:
http://www.der-keiler.de/Newsgroups/comp.security.ssh/2002-06/subject.html)

However I have found a reference in the ssh release notes at www.ssh.com:

http://www.ssh.com/documents/33/ssh2wks_322_relnote.txt

which says something about it in v3.2.0 in ssh. Perhaps OpenSSH is lagging
on that issue?

cheers
Dan
