No, unfortunately.

Yes, I have my motherboard onboard sound drivers aswell, which are
detected, but the sound output is like a hippo singing opera.
I did some research last night after Daniel O'Connor's comment:

as this is exactly what I thought devfs should be doing, so I suppose it
is a compatibility issue. Can I use the OSS drivers
(www.opensound.com)? I began looking into this last night until it told
me I needed to unload my current sound drivers before continuing, but I
wasn't sure whether that meant I needed to remove them from the kernel,
recompile & reboot. But if they're in the kernel file, I can't do a
kldunload, can I. The OSS instructions told me that is what I needed to
do (so I got a little unsure.)
