RE: Microsoft opens Windows to counter the Linux threat (The Age)

Interesting !

"Under the program, 97 per cent of the code to Windows desktop and
network server operating systems and Windows CE hand-held software will
be available to governments online for inspection and testing."

I smell a leak happening.

"To view the other three per cent - the most sensitive technology -
representatives must come to Microsoft headquarters in Redmond,
Washington."

I wonder which "Government Departments" will have access to this data.
I wonder what portions of the code are within that 3%, and I wonder
which generations of Windows will be available for viewing. Does it
include only current level technology, or are they going to preview
their development code aswell?

I'll be interested to see what the slashdotters have to say when this
article appears. Oh! It's on slashdot already because the Age were two
days behind in the news :)

*reads up*
