Weird login behaviour, FreeBSD 4.7

This is a bit peculiar.

I had a cheap CNet NIC in my FreeBSD box, and due to me consistently getting 'dc0: Watchdog timeout' and having my NIC freeze up on me, I figured it was either a faulty NIC or something to do with duplexing or other settings that was buggering up. So I grabbed another cheap NIC from work to replace it, because I wasn't in the mood to research it, nor did I really have the time.

I reinstalled the new cheap NIC, a NetGear FA311, and it was detected without problems. The only difference now is, when I login remotely via SSH, I am presented with a login prompt, but after I press enter when entering my password, I get no response from anything for about 60 seconds, and I am eventually at my prompt.

It's peculiar.

Anyone got any ideas?

Adam
