You do have the option of installing from a local directory, which I think
is what David is referring to.  When you run setup it gives you the option
to download the packages as well as install them, so if you had a cd with 
the sources it would be a simple matter of pointing setup to that...

I'm playing with cygwin at the moment (well, have been for the
last couple weeks on & off, total time spent on it = approx 10 minutes I 
think :P) fairly impressive so far, I'm hoping to get gnome running on
it just because you can, not because I need it (fvwm can be installed with
setup which is good enough for most things)
