Systems Administrator

Adam Internet is Adelaide's leading Internet Service Provider (ISP) and is
rated in the top 5% of ISP's Australia wide. The company wholesales to
other ISP's and continues to experience rapid growth. The company is
committed to staff development and generous remuneration packages
to ensure it retains the best people.

We are now seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual who will
share responsibility for maintaining the networks and systems of Adam
Internet. Duties Include:

Monitoring, fault management and uptimes of Cisco, FreeBSD and Linux
machines.

Configuration of routers and switches.

Assisting with the management of the back-up systems, processes and
procedures.

Designing and planning new systems.

Upgrading and Migrating legacy systems.

Liasing with technical support personell to solve corporate customer
problems.

Scripted automation of common tasks.

The successful candidate is likely to have a tertiary qualification and at
least 3 years experience in a similar role. In-depth understanding of Unix
systems, networking administration and security/access control issues is
essential.

In addition a background in SQL database administration  and a
knowledge of CISCO equipment is required. Applicants posessing
CCNA or better certification standards will be  highly regarded.
Personal qualities include excellent problem solving, fault diagnosis,
lateral thinking, communications skills and a willingness to work flexible
hours.
