Whilst the Dell laptops seem to be reasonably good in terms of the
components used, I don't believe they're built as well as, say, an IBM
or Toshiba.

I've had several laptops (in nice, big, leather laptop cases) sitting
up on the top of wardrobe-sized cupboards fall off for some
reason. When a Dell falls off, the case splits down the middle. When
an IBM falls off, you get a dent in the floor :-)

They're alright, just not quite as sturdy as I'd like.
