I bought one of them about 6 weeks ago and had no end of grief with my 
limited install knowledge. I bought Madrake 8.2 and the video worked 
perfectly up front. Sound presently doesn't work. The modem is a 
software modem but it does have pcmcia slot (some other cheap ones 
didn't) to allow for a modem. I really like the machine as it boots like 
a standard PC giving full access to the setup etc.
