RE: Virus Scanning - Workplace LAN

I set up Amavis-milter with McAfee and sendmail a few weeks ago... Took me
a couple of days to get it running (I had to recompile sendmail with milter
support, etc), but it works a treat. We're using the milter version of
amavisd so that it scans all incoming, relayed and outgoing mail (we do some
secondary MX'ing stuff for clients).

Its increased the load on our server somewhat (as you'd expect), but our
Pentium 75 can still cope with our email load (500+ messages a day).

Jim.

Subject: Virus Scanning - Workplace LAN

What open source products do folks recommend for a workplace server
(RH7.2) that is the mail server (sendmail) and web proxy for a larger
workplace LAN for 100+ Win 9x to Win XP workstations.

The workstations run Norton with the latest updates, but the management
are asking about virus protection all over (as it there wont to do every
few years when someone gets bitten, in this case a user did every thing
a hoax e-mail told them do to and thus kill of a few important files on
there workstation. I know no scanner will fix this.)

Freshmeat's shows a number of interesting packages, but what are folks
using out there.
