SiS 630S Chipset

Howdy all,

In my effort to find a laptop wihch is low cost and runs linux, i have come
accross the following:

Mandrake lists the laptop (2200C) as compatable hardware. However, it
doesn't mention if the modem is a winmodem or not. And if it is, does it
work with linux?

http://www.linux-laptop.net does have some leads but nothing specific.

Has anyone alraedy done this homework?
