RE: Clearing Bios like Settings on a AplhaStation 200 4/166
Also, is there a jumper or battery you can disconnnect?
hmmm.... there's a battery pictured here:
http://www.compaq.com/alphaserver/download/ek-pcdta-ui-e01.pdf
Figure 2-4 has the battery marked
Also, Page 3-24 explains how to replace it, and tells you that you will
have to re-enter config and setup data using the ARC or SRM console...
Prior to doing this, you may wish to check if it uses the serial port...
I have once locked myself out of a sun by setting the OpenPROM to boot
from serial when I didn't mean to... (duh)
Also, it could just be that the monitor is incompatible. I have a
JavaStation here (anyone want to buy a Javastation? It runs Linux
(boot/root from NFS) and is silent), and I had a struggle to get a
monitor to sync with it. Ended up going to a 2nd hand place (Monitors
Reborn or some such) on Main North East Road, and just trying it with
about five old monitors until one (an old Apple one) worked...
