Laptop Purchase

Hello all,

I am looking to get myself a laptop, "Acer Aspire 1200". Does anyone have
any idea how linux will go on this machine?

Also, i don't really want to pay for Windows to be supplyed with this
machine. Has anyone had any experience with Acer and this issue?

Otherwise, what laptops do people recommend? (and im not super rich! :)
