I'd debate weather or not you could get a brand-name server-class
machine with the specifications that you have listed with that kind of
cash. Brand-name Xeon boxen are often over $10K.


If you buy non-brand-name stuff, your money goes a lot further, and
you could (definitely) get that kind of machine (possibly not the
Xeon, though) for that kind of money.
