I tried what you said but the Windows 98 VNC viewer will only accept an
address in the form http//snoopy:5802 not in the form
http://63.34.203.134:5802 where the lastmentioned address is the dynamic
IP address allocated by my service provider. As I previously mentioned I
do not have a networked system and therefore no DNS entry and am thus
using the default localhost.localdomain setup.
I assume that some mapping of addresses needs to be done in the hosts
file to make it work which at present it will not.
Could someone please help, preferably for my existing setup without a
DNS entry.
