Ian,

    Having just downloaded OpenOffice 642 from ftp.planetmirror.com I can
safely say it's fairly bloody marvelous.
I've come from MS Office 97/2k and StarOffice 5.2 and this appears to be
more than a match for either. Running
it under Win2k, and RH 7.2. Compatibility with M$ documents appears so far
to be flawless. I'd recommend
OpenOffice for all of you out there who don't want to pay for their
software, noting however, that I don't personally
have any problem with paying for software, but I know some of you out there
in IT land certainly do.
