It does sound rather conclusive that it hasnt copyed the journal
correctly. Still, you might be able to use a resuce cd that supports
ext3 (redhat 7.2 will probably work, or mandrake 8.1). Then fsck the
ext3 manually. With any luck it'll recreate the journal, and fix and
flags stating the volume isnt clean, which should make it mountable, and
then it might work after that. Its probably a safey thing where it sees
trouble and wont automount or fix to make sure you know whats going on.
