This may not be quite what you want, but have you considered blocking
traffic to your secure shell port on that interface / IP address.  This
could usually be done by blocking incoming traffic on port 22 using
ipchains or iptables.

This assumption is unlikely true of anything, but ssh may be _more
difficult_ to break than other systems (notably telnet!).
