[OT] Wiring new houses for the 'net
>What do you suggest as a minimum for a new or refurbished house to be
>wired for the net?
Here are some articles that you might like to read, this should help you
rationalise what you are going to acheive;
" Wiring Homes for the Digital Future "
http://www.hometoys.com/htinews/apr00/articles/avio/avio.htm
"Future Proofing Your Home: Is it possible ?"
http://www.hometoys.com/mentors/caswell/mar00/futureproof.htm
"What is a Residential Gateway: and what can it deliver"
http://www.hometoys.com/htinews/aug00/articles/coactive/gaw.htm
"Architecture + Home Systems = The MIT home of the Future"
http://www.hometoys.com/htinews/jun00/articles/wacks/wacks.htm
"Home Automation and You"
http://www.hometoys.com/mentors/raji/may00/intro.htm
You will find www.hometoys.com is a very good reference site for this type
of information, while biased towards the US we are tending to follow about
2-3 years behind. I have about three arch lever folders full of this
information that I have dreged off the net over the last 4 years. Things
are starting to hot up, so stay awake !
