How about we do two things:

1. Allow Richard to prepare his letter ready for sending (taking up 
points made here if he wishes), post it here and give each person one 
week to decide whether they want to have their name appended, or not.  
Then have Richard post it.

2. Set up a list (listserv@opensource-advocacy ?) if one does not 
already exist, to encourage all people who are interested to discuss 
aspects of the advocacy of open source software and decide appropriate 
courses of action.
