RE: FreeBSD 3.2 ports...

The /usr/local/etc/rc.d is not just for stuff you installed from ports,
you can start
anything from there you just have to write a script for it and make sure
its executable.

If you turn on named in /etc/rc.conf remember to make sure it starts the
right version of named if a previous version was installed.

Brad

Look under /usr/local .. you'll probably see a /usr/local/etc/rc.d for
anything you install from ports in there. init.d style :-) Ports
rhawk.

Under /etc you'll probably want to look at /etc/rc.conf for
startup-style
stuff, check out /etc/defaults/rc.conf for a template to work from.
