Linux and games

G'day all,

I have mandrake 8.0 now on my computer and i cant get games to work. when
they require 3d support. eg, quake 3, descent...

if i bring my computer along to a meeting, can this be looked at and
little'ol me educated? or is this simple enough to go thgouh on here..?

i guess the problem is that libraries arent loaded/installed, and finding
them on the linux CD isnt always possible..
