Re: Connectivity with Iprimus
Hi Mark,
Get the documentation for your modem & duplicate v42bis error correction
& MNP5 compression for your modem.
A typical v90 modem may require:
ats7=60l3m3x3w1\\v1
Your mileage may vary!
Note, as mentioned below, you may want to turn off data compression,
although if it works, it will increase throughput.
PPP PARAMETERS:
Your IP address..: 0.0.0.0 ÿ ÿ Nameserver address: 0.0.0.0
Dest. IP address.: 0.0.0.0 ÿ ÿ Backup nameserver.: 0.0.0.0
ÿ ÿ Your host name....:
Netmask..........: 255.255.255.0 ÿ ÿ Domain name.......:
[X] Allow PAP Authentication ÿ ÿ Restart timer..: 3500
[ ] Allow CHAP Authentication ÿ ÿ Max. tries.....: 15
[ ] Allow MS-CHAP Authentication ÿ ÿ MRU............: 576
[X] Negotiate ACCM to 0 ÿ ÿ Interface name.: ppp
[ ] FCS checking ÿ ÿ Priority %.....: 60
[ ] Addr & Cntl field compression ÿ ÿ UI priority %..: 0
[ ] Protocol compression ÿ ÿ PPPFLAG timeout: 2000 ms
[ ] ECHO-REQ resets idle timeout ÿ ÿ
[ ] Use VJ Compression ÿ ÿ
Note MRU=576 is good for a <= 33k6 link.
Set MRU=1152 for a >33k6 link.
Test host processor was a P133mmx laptop running OS/2 Warp 4 FixPak 15.
Priority could be set lower for a faster CPU without Netscape running or
for Linux.
PPP dialer was InJoy Dialer v2.3, http://www.fx.dk
