Code Red media roundup

If you're curious, as I was, to know whether mainstream news services
are emphasizing that the Code Red thing is Microsoft-specific,
here's a little sample:

Australia: ABC news.
No recognition of existence of non-MS software.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2001/07/item20010730154924_1.htm

UK: BBC.
Says that non-MS software is not affected!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/sci/tech/newsid_1464000/1464337.stm

India: Times of India.
No recognition of non-MS software.
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow.asp?art_id=875989803

Germany: T-online.
Says that "other OSs are not affected", namely 95, 98 and ME.
I.e. no recognition of non-MS software.
http://www.t-online.de/computer/index/newcox10.htm

USA: CNN.
No recognition of non-MS software. 95/98/Me are fine.
http://www.cnn.com/2001/TECH/internet/07/30/code.red/index.html

France: Le Monde.
No recognition of non-MS software. 95/98 are okay.
http://www.lemonde.fr/dh/0,5987,3236--4955257,00.html

-------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion:
The Code Red thing is not helping at all to publicise the
benefits of non-MS software.
Only the BBC even mentioned non-MS software.
No one seems to be blaming MS.

By the way, online news services of the following countries
either had nothing on Code Red, hung my Netscape, or were just
too slow:

Armenia, Botswana, Cambodia, Cuba, Egypt, Mexico, Myanmar,
Philippines, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Cheers,
Alan Kennington.
