I'd have to agree that it's crap.  Especially as RH7 is more
likely to be 'stable' than RH8, simply because fully enabling
Linux 2.4 features (devfs, iptables) will break some existing
configuration.

As the even/odd method is followed with the kernel I suspect
some person mistakenly believes that Red Hat == Linux.
