I have been using Opera 5 for Linux and find it very good although I don't think it supports Java.
I find it as fast as it's windows equivelant ( Opera 5.12)
The windows version has an in-built email client ala Netscape.
Netscape is Bloatware these days and the linux version was always crashing on me so I went to Opera.
Konquerer is also very good but I can't get ANZ Internet Banking to work with it...

Cheers!
