Arrrgh, modifying Samba's configure.in to build on multiple platforms is a problem

Damn, building shared libraries across lots of platforms is hard. 
Slowaris's cc does not like this, while gcc does not like that, and 
AIX's CC does not like something else ...

What a mess.
