Call it whatever you want. Depending on what part of your system you view as
the most important part, or what your usage pattern is, you might call it
any of *nix, Linux, RedHat, Debian, GNU/Linux, GNOME, Qt, ipchains, Apache,
Netscape or StarOffice (etc). I know of many people who say their computer
runs Word 2000 as its OS. This is because that's what they use most of the
time, hence, it's the most important part to them. Of course, in this
particular group of people, we all know the difference between an
application and a kernel, so we are all going to be somewhat less likely to
refer to Netscape as our OS, but in some situations, this could be quite
practical.
