RE: ADSL trouble.

I've seen this happen severl times before on windows box's - and it was the
network card. Only thing I can suggest is trying yet another card -
preferably one by a different manufacturer.
Any thing useful in /var/log/messages?

Subject: ADSL trouble.

Hi all,
We have a small problem with our Linux box using ADSL.
We've connected our DSL modem to a netgear router which is plugged into a
Netgear switch, which is then plugged into our Linux box. All workstations
are plugged into the switch and are using a default gateway pointed at the
Linux box. The Linux box is using a default gateway pointed at the Netgear
router.

Now the problem we have is that every so often ( there doesn't seem to be
any set time frame) the network adapter (eth0) in the Linux box stops
responding from outside the Linux box. We tried a new adapter, but to no
avail. Doing a ifdown eth0 then a ifup eth0 starts it back up again fine.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be.
