PHPLib is a rather large beast -- it's purpose isn't just to provide
Database Abstraction.

Included in PHP4 is PEAR DB -- essentially a DB Abstraction library
standard with PHP4. There is an excellent tutorial on PHPBuilder.com
which covers the many ways in which it could be used.
