Re: dot.plans

Hi There,
If you don't have one then create one using your
preferred editor, it is a simple ASCII text file. .plan
files usually live in a users home directory and because
they are "." files they are normally not listed unless you
do an "all" listing eg ls -la . I am not sure about this one
but they probably have to be "readable" by "all" to be seen,
but I am not sure exactly what the finger command looks for.

Although I didn't look into how it was done, when I was
at uni a friend had a .plan that appeared to run a bash
script. Again I don't know exactly how it was done, but
depending on how finger works, I am not all that convinced a
scripting .plan file is very secure either, but it can be
done.

    Hope this helps,
        Cheers!
            Andrew.
