ADSL Static IP addresses

Hi all,

Found something interesting today:

http://www.telstra.com.au/bigpond/direct/adsl.htm

Telstra are now offering static ip's through bigpond direct for ADSL, hence
this service should support servers, etc. according to telstra they are
offering all bigpond direct services through ADSL and it says that they will
support the Cisco 827 router, wonder how hard it would be to get linux
running on such a connection, would it be the same as normal dialup??

Another interesting thing, it appears that Telstra are starting to roll out
ADSL in regional centres!!! thats according to their website thingy where
one enters a phone number in...

Just thought some people might be interested in this info...
this is not a plug, I just through that given all the ADSL discussions
lately that this would be relevant...

Regards,

Michael
