Adelaide Uni Staff Dialup

Howdy list,
I'm having a problem with my modem at the moment.
I've just decided to hookup my mitsubishi 56k external to my
linux box
(RH 7.1).
I've used the same modem on my Win98SE box and it connects
to my staff
dialup and my camtech (now Ozemail) account and the thing
works fine.

I've also used another modem (tasmanian devil 56k external)
to connecton my camtech account and that works, however it
does not work with my staff dialup.

I remember a few posts regarding the Adelaide Uni staff
dialup and had a look through the mailing lists archives
(and searched for it) but could not find the thread.

I've set the symbolic link and got the modem to dial.

It gets a dial-tone, dials the number, talks a bit to the
server on the other end and then stops talking to the other
end so that I don't get a valid connection.

I don't get what I am doing wrong?

If anyone has got any suggestions they would be muchly
appreciated

cheers
